Club Regent Casino: hours, age rules and what the building holds
The casino is the reason the hotel exists here. This page sets out what it is, who may enter and when — nothing more.
Illustration, not a photograph of the hotel
Club Regent Casino is one of two Casinos of Winnipeg, both owned by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, the provincial Crown corporation. The operator says revenue from its casinos goes back to the Province to support health care, education, social and community services, economic development and public safety. According to Wikipedia, the casino opened in 1993.

What is inside
The operator lists approximately 1,200 slot machines, live table games daily from 5:30 pm to 3 am, electronic "stadium" table stations, and a bingo hall with sessions from late morning to midnight. Inside the hotel itself, Canad Inns runs Playmaker's Gaming Lounge, a separate 18+ lounge with food and drink service, open daily from 9 am to midnight.
Wikipedia describes the floor as two areas joined by a tunnel that once held a saltwater aquarium, with a bamboo-styled spiral staircase in the second area. I wrote about that in the journal; the casino's own pages don't mention it.
Identification at the door
The casino accepts one of: a driver's licence from Manitoba or elsewhere, a passport, a Manitoba Identification Card, a Secure Certificate of Indian Status, a Manitoba Métis Federation Citizenship Card, a Canadian Armed Forces ID, a Firearms Possession and Acquisition Licence, or a NEXUS card. Failing that, two valid government-issued IDs, one with a photo. Originals only: photographs and photocopies are refused.
That matters for hotel guests. If you've come for a show and left your passport in the room, the Event Centre may be fine but the casino floor will not be.
Accessibility services
The casino says staff can, on request, help at the doors, fetch coats from the coat check, help with buffet selection, call a taxi or Handi-Transit, and assist at the bank machine and cashier. Listed facilities include accessible parking, wheelchair access to slot machines and select table games, wheelchairs and walkers to borrow, gender-neutral accessible washrooms, voice/TTY phones, service dog access and braille or tactile bingo cards with large print.
If gambling stops being fun
Manitoba's Gambling Helpline is free, confidential and open 24 hours a day: 1-800-463-1554. Informed Gambling Advisors work on site at Club Regent (204-985-0419), and Voluntary Self-Exclusion can be arranged at the casino. Our responsible gambling page explains how.
This guide reports the casino's published hours and rules for hotel guests. It does not promote gambling, carries no offers and has no link with the operator.
