Ratings · only what I actually saw
What guests and inspectors say — and how much to trust it
No made-up quotes, no star ratings of my own. Just the public signals I could see, with their dates.
Illustration, not a photograph of the hotel
I don't publish guest reviews, because I don't collect them and I won't invent them. What I can do is tell you which public ratings exist and what they say, with the date I looked.
| Google Maps place card | Titled “Canad Inns Destination Centre Club Regent Casino Hotel”; average 4.0; labelled a 3-star hotel. Seen 29 October 2026. The number of reviews wasn't visible in that capture. |
|---|---|
| AAA inspector notes | “Modest guest rooms feature comfortable bedding, a large flat-screen TV, a work desk, and updated bathrooms with spacious vanities and tub/shower combinations.” |
| AAA facts | Interior corridors, 6 storeys, smoke free, 146 units; two on-site restaurants. |
| Travel Manitoba | Lists “Full wheelchair access” and “Roll-in Showers” among the amenities. |
| Older ratings (Wikipedia) | AAA/CAA 3-diamond, Canada Select 4-star and a 3 Green Key eco rating — cited to a 2008 archived page, so treat as history. |
Reading between the lines
The inspector's choice of "modest" is worth pausing on. It isn't an insult; it's a classification. These are mid-range rooms in a building whose selling point is what's attached to it. A 4.0 average on the Google card is consistent with that: people generally get what they expected.
The AAA line "two on-site restaurants" fits what I found: Aaltos on the hotel side and Toukies on the casino side, plus bars and an ice cream counter that are not restaurants in the full sense.
What I would look for in recent reviews
- Comments on noise from the connection to the casino on Friday and Saturday nights.
- Whether the heating keeps up in January on the windward side.
- How guests found the walk between the parkade, the hotel and the Event Centre with luggage.
- Breakfast experience on days without the Saturday buffet.
Those are the things that decide a stay here; the bed and the TV are, by every account, fine.
Where to read them
The Google Maps card carries guest reviews; the Travel Manitoba listing has a reviews tab too. Sort by newest. Anything older than the 2026 bag policy at the casino, or the 2014 opening of the Event Centre, describes a slightly different building.
