Itinerary · Friday to Sunday
Forty-eight hours on Regent Avenue: one plan for February, one for July
Same hotel, same Friday check-in, two very different weekends.

These plans use only venues and hours I could confirm. Where a time depends on a show or the weather, I say so.
A February weekend
Friday
- Afternoon: drive in via Lagimodière Boulevard, park in the covered parkade, take the skywalk in. AAA lists check-in at 4 pm.
- 5 pm: Friday is Surf & Turf at Aaltos, 5 to 8 pm.
- Evening: if there's a show, doors are usually at 6 or 7 pm. If not, an early night — Saturday is the long day.
Saturday
- 8–11 am: Aaltos's Saturday breakfast buffet.
- Late morning: drive west to The Forks. Walk a stretch of the Nestaweya River Trail if it's open, or skate at the Market Plaza rink.
- Early afternoon: the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, next to The Forks.
- During Festival du Voyageur (12–21 February 2027): Whittier Park instead of the museum.
- 5–8 pm: back at the hotel for the Classic Roast Beef buffet.
Sunday
- 10 am–2 pm: Sunday brunch at Aaltos.
- 11 am: check out (AAA's time — ask for later if the roads are bad).
- If the weather is poor: an hour at Kildonan Place on Regent Avenue West before the drive home.
A July weekend
Friday
- Afternoon: check in, then drive to The Forks for the long evening. The Market building is open until 10 pm.
- In season, take the water bus to the Exchange District and back.
Saturday
- Breakfast buffet at Aaltos, 8–11 am.
- If it's Folk Festival weekend (8–11 July 2027): drive out to Birds Hill Provincial Park for the day.
- Otherwise: Transcona Museum at 141 Regent Avenue West to see where CN 2747 came from, and Rotary Heritage Park.
- Evening: Aaltos's roast beef buffet, or a show if the calendar has one.
Sunday
- Brunch at Aaltos, then a slow departure. In July the light lasts long enough for a late drive.
Adapting the plan
With children: keep to the hotel, Aaltos, The Forks and all-ages shows; skip the casino side entirely. The Adventure Kids Club stamp card works at Aaltos.
With a wheelchair user: the casino and Event Centre list accessible seating, washrooms and staff help on request; Travel Manitoba lists roll-in showers at the hotel. Ask the desk to confirm an accessible room.
For a show-only trip: drop Saturday entirely. Friday dinner, show, sleep, Saturday breakfast, home.
Ask for a room for your weekend — mention which plan you're following and the desk will know what to ask the hotel.
