Responsible gambling: help in Manitoba
The hotel is joined to a casino. If gambling is becoming a problem for you or someone close to you, here's where to turn.
Illustration, not a photograph of the hotel
This guide is about a hotel, its restaurant and its stage. It does not encourage anyone to gamble. But the building contains a casino, so it would be wrong not to put the help on the record.
Call any time
Gambling Helpline: 1-800-463-1554 — free, confidential, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries publishes the number, and Shared Health Manitoba lists it as its Problem Gambling Helpline.
Age
You must be 18 or older, with valid photo ID, to enter Club Regent Casino and Playmaker's Gaming Lounge. Jags Event Space is also 18+.
Voluntary Self-Exclusion (VSE)
VSE lets you take a break from the Casinos of Winnipeg, the Shark Club Gaming Centre in Winnipeg and the province's online platform — or any combination. You choose the length; the minimum options are 6 months, 1, 2 or 3 years.
- In person: speak to an employee at Club Regent or McPhillips Station Casino.
- By appointment off-site: call 204-957-2500 ext. 8468.
- You'll be asked for government-issued photo ID with a signature, to sign an agreement and to have a photo taken.
The operator is frank that self-exclusion relies on you: there's no guarantee you'll be identified if you go in. To end a VSE, the period must be over, you complete a free course called Pause and Plan, send a written request to VSE@mbll.ca, and wait for written confirmation.
Talk to someone on site
Informed Gambling Advisors work at the casinos: Club Regent 204-985-0419, McPhillips Station 204-985-1240.
Other support

- Community Financial — help with money problems linked to gambling.
- Rainbow Outpatient Addictions Recovery (ROAR) — a free 16-week harm reduction programme for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Winnipeg.

Signs worth noticing
- Spending more time or money than you meant to, more than once.
- Borrowing, or hiding how much you've spent.
- Chasing losses — going back to win back what's gone.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut down.
If any of these sound familiar, the helpline is the simplest first step. You don't need to be sure there's a problem to call.
Our own rules
We publish no gambling offers, no bonuses and no game recommendations, and we earn nothing from anything that happens on a casino floor. Our only income is described on our business model page.
