Who it suits

Two friends with concert tickets. The Dean Brody and The Reklaws dates on 12 and 13 November 2026 are the sort of night this room was made for: separate beds, one bill, a short walk indoors to the hall.

A family in summer. A refrigerator and a microwave carry more weight than any amenity list when there are two children and a long July day at Birds Hill ahead. The Adventure Kids Club — free for children 12 and under — collects stamps for kids' meals at Aaltos.

A pair of colleagues. If a conference at the Event Centre puts two of you on the road, two queens in one room is the honest way to save the budget.

What I would ask the desk

• Is there a 2 Queen Room on a floor close to the indoor link to the casino and the Event Centre?
• Can a crib or rollaway be added, and is there a charge?
• Is there an accessible 2 Queen Room with a roll-in shower?
• Which side of the building is quieter on a show night?

Put any of those in the request form. They're the questions I'd want answered before paying for a night in January, when changing rooms at 11 pm means carrying a suitcase down a corridor in your socks.

A winter note

Two beds also means two people sharing one heater and one window. If one of you sleeps warm and the other cold, take the bed farther from the glass for the cold sleeper. It sounds trivial until it's −25 °C at 6 am.
